Chitwan court orders release of Rabi Lamichhane on bail of Rs 5.4 million

Chitwan- The Chitwan District Court has ordered the release of Rastriya Swatantra Party President Rabi Lamichhane on bail of Rs 5.4 million.

After closed arguments in the Sahara Chitwan cooperative fraud case, the bench of Judge Dayaram Dhakal ordered his release on bail of Rs 5.4 million. Although cases of organized crime have been registered against Rabi in Kaski, Kathmandu and Rupandehi, only a case of fraud has been filed in Chitwan.

The Government Attorney’s Office, Chitwan, has registered a case against Lamichhane and 15 other individuals and six organizations for embezzling funds from the cooperative.

Rabi has been registered only for cooperative fraud, while 12 others have also been registered for organized crime, according to the Government Attorney’s Office. The police investigation report states that 389 million 79 thousand rupees were embezzled from this cooperative.

Rabi Lamichhane sent to judicial custody

Chitwan- An order has been issued to send Rastriya Swatantra Party President Rabi Lamichhane, who is accused of fraud in the Sahara Multipurpose Cooperative, to judicial custody.

The bench of District Judge Dayaram Dhakal has handed Lamichhane over to security personnel and sent him to the District Police Office as the hearing was not completed.

After the final hearing, an order will be issued either to send Lamichhane to custody, release him on bail, or release him on a regular date.

District Attorney Rabi Neupane and Assistant Attorney Buddha Bahadur Thapa will argue on behalf of the government. On the other hand, 10 legal practitioners will argue on behalf of the defendant in the case.

A case was registered against Lamichhane and 15 others, including Ram Bahadur Khanal, Rabina Rimal, Bishal Tamang, Navin Achhami, Kabita Tamang, Deepak Lama, Asraf Ali Siddiqui, Bhagwati Bamjan, Laxmi Prasad Poudel, Vigyan Rai, Netrapani Bastola, Shiv Bahadur Gurung and Pragati Shrestha, on charges of embezzling funds from Sahara Multipurpose Cooperative.

Earlier, Lamichhane has been released on bail by the Kaski, Rupandehi and Kathmandu District Courts in the case of embezzlement of the cooperative’s funds.

Rabi Lamichhane at Parliament Secretariat, demanding lifting of suspension

Kathmandu – President of the Rastriya swatantra party Rabi Lamichhane has reached the Parliament Secretariat with a petition to lift his suspension from the post of MP.

Lamichhane is expected to meet Speaker Devraj Ghimire and request his suspension lifting, claiming that the suspension is illegal and against the rules of the House of Representatives.

The Parliament Secretariat suspended Lamichhane from his post as MP on Poush 8 after a case of money laundering was registered along with cooperative fraud.

RSP has already decided to protest the suspension of his post as MP in the House of Representatives meeting to be held today, saying that it was politically motivated.

Lamichhane to High Court against the verdict set by Kaski district court

Pokhara – Rastriya Swatantra Party President Rabi Lamichhane has approached the Pokhara High Court against the Kaski District Court’s decision to release Rabi on a bail of Rs 6.5 million on Poush 10, saying he is not satisfied with the court’s order in the Surya Darshan Cooperative fraud case in Pokhara.

On the one hand, the Office of the High Government Attorney has filed a petition in the Pokhara High Court against the District Court’s order to release Rabi on bail, demanding that Rabi be kept in custody and investigated, while on the other hand, Lamichhane has approached the High Court saying he is not satisfied with the District Court’s order.

Arrested from Kathmandu on Kartik 2 and brought to Pokhara, Lamichhane was released on a bail of Rs 6.5 million on Poush 10 after an indictment was filed for cooperative fraud, organized crime and money laundering in the Surya Darshan Cooperative fraud case.

Rabi Lamichhane released on bail of Rs 10 million

Rupandehi — Rastriya Swatantra Party President Rabi Lamichhane has been released on bail of Rs 10 million in the cooperative fraud, organized crime and money laundering case at the Rupandehi District Court.

After the arguments of the defense lawyer, the counter arguments of the public prosecutor and the government lawyer on Sunday, Rupandehi District Court Judge Pralhad Kumar Yogi ordered the bail of Rs 10 million.

The District Government Attorney’s Office had registered a case against 22 people, including Lamichhane, in the Rupandehi District Court on Magh 22 for Supreme cooperative fraud and organized crime.

Lamichhane, who was arrested in connection with the investigation into the Surya Darshan Cooperative fraud case in Pokhara, was released on bail of Rs 6.5 million by the Kaski District Court on and on bail of Rs 6 million by the Kathmandu District Court in the Swarna Lakshmi Cooperative fraud case .
