JASAPA to Stage Protests Against Land Bill

Kathmandu – The Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal has announced that it will launch nationwide protests against the recently passed Land Bill in Parliament. The party, through a circular issued on Saturday, directed its various organizations and committees to begin preparations for the protests.

The JASAPA stated that it will organize protest programs in different cities across the country from Bhadra 9 to 15. According to the party, the Land Bill brought by the government benefits land mafias and brokers, while pushing the Terai–Madhes region toward desertification.

As per the decision, the JASAPA will hold protests in various cities nationwide from Bhadra 9 to 15 and has instructed all party structures and members to actively participate in the campaign.

Ruling party putting strenuous efforts to bring Upendra Yadav to their fold

Kathmandu – The government has already submitted 6 ordinances to the National Assembly and the House of Representatives. These ordinances will be submitted for decision in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives. The meeting of the House of Representatives will be held at 1 pm and the meeting of the National Assembly will be held at 1:15 pm.

Even though the ruling party has a majority in the House of Representatives, the government will not have a majority to get the ordinance approved by the National Assembly. Therefore, the top leaders of the ruling party, Congress President Deuba and UML President and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, have been urging the JASAPA Nepal to support the ordinance.In the meantime, discussions are going on between Yadav and the top leaders of the ruling party.

In fact, the JASAPA had formed a task force under the leadership of Rajkishore Yadav to study the ordinance. However, while the JASAPA has not yet decided whether to support the ordinance brought by the government or not, top leaders of the ruling party are making strenuous efforts to bring the JASAPA Nepal to their fold.

Before taking a decision on the ordinance, Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav is meeting with Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Congress leaders, and Prime Minister and UML Chairman Oli for discussions.

Eight Madhesh-centric parties in discussions to form a front

Kathmandu – As the issue of constitutional amendment is ongoing and the winter session of Parliament is about to begin on March 18, eight different Madhesh political parties are being active in forming a front to unite on the issue of constitutional amendment and are engaged in discussions.

The leaders of Ashok Rai-led JASAPA, Upendra Yadav-led JASAPA Nepal, CK Raut-led Janamat Party, Mahantha Thakur-led LOSAPA, Ranjita Shrestha-led Nagarik Unmukti, Rajendra Mahato-led Rastriya Mukti Party Nepal, Hridayash Tripathi-led Janata Pragatisheel Party and Brushesh Chandra Lal-led Terai Madhesh Loktantrik Party (Tamalopa) are holding discussions.

They said that discussions are underway on how to make the presence of Madhesh parties in Parliament and how to take forward the activities of the front.

Janmaat Party left the Madhesh state government

Janakpur – The Janmat Party, which is participating in the Madhesh state government, has left the state government. Janamat Party has also recalled two of its ministers from the government and withdrawn its support to the government.

Sanjay Yadav, state MP of Janmaat Party, has said that he has submitted a letter to state chief Harishankar Mishra to notify that the party has left Madhesh state government. Janmaat Party has recalled Education and Social Welfare Minister Mahesh Prasad Yadav and Labor and Transport Minister Chandan Singh from the government. It is understood that Janmat Party left the government due to internal differences with JASAPA.

Dr. Bhattarai and 9 central leaders dismissed from JASAPA

The Upendra Yadav faction of the Janata Samajwadi Party has dismissed 9 central leaders including Federal Council Chairman Baburam Bhattarai. Accusing him of playing a role in dividing the party, the central committee meeting held in Birgunj decided to remove Bhattarai and the leader of his faction on Thursday.

According to JASAPa executive member Prakash Adhikari, Federal Council Chairman Bhattarai, executive members Mahindra Yadav, Hisila Yami, Ganganarayan Shrestha, Prashant Singh, Durga Shob, Ramesh Yadav, Bhakta Bahadur Shah and Dan Bahadur Chaudhary have been relieved of their posts.

The extended meeting of the Bhattarai faction held in Kathmandu on Tuesday and Wednesday decided to separate from the JASAPA and form a new party.

Janata Samajwadi Party to recall its ministers and send new ones

Less than a week after the unified socialist party reshuffled its ministers, Janata Samajwadi Party (JASAPA) is also preparing to recall its ministers and send new ones.

JASAPA Chairman Upendra Yadav has informed that he is preparing to recall the current ministers and appoint new ones. At present, the party is represented by Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Rajendra Shrestha, Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Mahindra Rai Yadav, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Renu Kumari Yadav and Minister for Forest and Environment Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav.
While preparing to recall the ministers in the government, it has been said that no decision has been made on who will be sent to the government as the new ministers.
